Deadly Surfing Paradise, Teahupoo Beach



Teahupo o is a village on the south-west coast of Tahiti island, French Polynesia, south of the Pacific Ocean. This beach is usually a world surfer's destination because of the ferocity of the waves. Every day the wave height reaches 2 to 3 m (7 to 10 feet), while at certain times it can reach up to a height of 70 feet

Though attracting a lot of surfers to come, Teahupoo beaches save great danger and can even lead to death. The danger is caused by the number of coral reefs are sharp and located only 20 inches from the surface of the water so that it can injure the surfer.




Billabong Pro Tahiti Surfing Competition



Every year on this beach, always held Billabong Pro Tahiti surfing competition, part of the World Championship Tour (WCT) Professional Association Surfing World Tour surfing circuit. This competition is always held regularly every year and always attracts surfers from all over the world to participate.


Usually the best time to go to Teahupoo and enjoy the waves there is in May. The May moon is the end of the rainy season, and there is usually a storm on the coast of Tahiti. Therefore, the championships held annually by Billabong are often held in May.
