Shipsterns (Tasmania, Australia)
Devil Point in Australia, Shipstren beach
Shipstern Beach is known as the "devil's point" for surfers in Australia, because it presents a terrifying wave of waves.
The first person to surf here is Andrew Chambel, an expert surfers surfing the big waves. Since then this location became known by the public.
A great wave of surfing is a discipline in surfing where experienced surfers paddle in or pull waves of at least 20 feet (6.2 m), on surfboards known as "firearms" or crane boards. Board size is required to reach the wave. Bigger and longer boards allow the rider to row fast enough to catch waves and have limited maneuverability and surfing speed.
In 1992, major wave surfers like Laird Hamilton and Darrick Doerner introduced a cross-over sport called tow-in surfing.
